Short-Term Leave
LOA
1-3 Operations
Max 21 Days
Leave of Absence is used for short-term absences covering one to three operations. If a member on LOA attends anyway, the operation will not count toward rank and any awards will be granted after the LOA ends. An LOA may be cancelled at any time before the operation starts. A start and end date are required.
ELOA: Emergency Leave of Absence may be filed at any time for illness, bereavement, crisis, or other extenuating circumstances and will be assessed at leadership discretion. Real life comes first.
Common examples: birthdays, family commitments, important events, prior engagements, and exams.
Long-Term Leave
TDY
Over 3 Weeks
Max 3 Months
Rank Progression Paused
Temporary Duty Assignment is a long-term leave status for members who require more than three weeks away but intend to return. The member will be unslotted from the roster during this period, although every reasonable effort will be made to return them to a similar role when one is available. Rank progression pauses but does not reset. A start and end date are required.
Common examples: prolonged work relocation, hardware failure preventing ARMA play, temporary shift scheduling conflicts, or ongoing health concerns such as hospitalization.
Reduced Commitment
Reserves
Below 50% Attendance
Basic Infantry Only
Members unable to commit to 50% of operations may be placed in reserves. Reserve members may still attend operations, but normally only in basic infantry roles. They are not eligible for new certifications, and existing certifications are only used when no active member is available to fill the need. Reserve status is reviewed periodically and prolonged inactivity may result in discharge.
Rank is reset to the highest non-billet rank reached, up to CSP, and Time in Grade resets to zero. Falling below 50% attendance across a month may result in reserve placement at leadership discretion, but this is not automatic. A reserve request requires a start date.
Long-Standing Members
Retirement
Good Standing
Seasonal Activity Checks
Long-standing members in good standing who are no longer able to commit to operations may request retirement. As with reserves, rank is reset to the highest non-billet rank reached, generally CSP, and Time in Grade resets. Retired members are subject to periodic or seasonal activity checks, but generally must be inactive for a prolonged period before being considered for removal.
